Saranda Port, which processes around 754,686 passengers annually, is the fastest gateway to an Albanian Riviera road trip. Pickup happens after ferry disembarkation and passport control: Enterprise is on the 2nd floor of the Sea Port Terminal, about 10 metres from the lift, typically with CDW and a card preauthorisation, while EasyGo Rental sits at street level with MTPL plus optional SCDW or zero-excess cover. Nexhipi Car Rental, Saranda Center and Leka Tours usually meet passengers in arrivals. Enterprise can arrange after-hours collection for €15 with 24 hours' notice. The Corfu-to-Saranda ferry is an 18 km crossing of 30–45 minutes run by Ionian Seaways, Finikas Lines and Joy Lines, with fares of about €19–€25 per foot passenger; rental cars generally cannot cross the Greece–Albania border, so the clean solution is to return the Greek car in Corfu and collect a separate Albanian car at the port. Deposits at Enterprise are €290 for mini and economy, €390 for compact and intermediate, and €1,000 for standard and luxury cars, while EasyGo and local suppliers often take €100–€200 in cash; EUR cash is widely preferred and some accept Wise or Revolut transfers. From the port, Ksamil and Butrint lie south, the SH8 leads to Himara, Dhermi and Borsh Beach, and Blue Eye or Gjirokaster turn inland. Albania drives on the right, the city limit is 40 km/h, and MTPL insurance is required under Law No. 32/2021.
